Mountain Top Green Tea Farm

While hiking in the mountains recently I met an 80 year old man who invited me to visit his mountain top green tea farm. The man bought and cleared the land at the top of this mountain over 60 years ago and has been climbing the mountain ever since to tend and care for his fields. He is one of the last tea farmers in the area to harvest all of his tea by hand and he uses no machines to assist in bringing the tea down the mountain. The large basket he carries on this back will be filled with the day’s harvest before he returns home in the evening. This man was very proud of his tea fields and his family’s long history of farming the mountains of the Japan Southern Alps.

Chinese Green Tea May be Fatal

CHAN: Green tea is well known world wide for its health benefits. Scientific research leads to the conclusion that it can help to fight virus’s, slow aging and even cure depression, but as our reporter discovers the latest batch of Green Tea imported from China into New Zealand could have the opposite effect. STORY: Its 9am, time for a cup of tea right? Sounds pretty harmless but what if this cup of tea was your last? The New Zealand Food Safety Authority (NZFSA) is warning people not to consume in any way seeds that may be found in a Chinese green tea. This product is sold under various brand names such as Heng Ming and Canton Love Pea tea. It is widely availed through out Asian supermarkets and Eastern medicine outlets. [Geoff Allan, New Zealand Food Safety Authority]: “If you consumed the seeds themselves, the toxins within the seeds are very poisonous and a small amount of that could very well prove to be fatal.” The tea was pulled from the shelves when an inspector found that its contents did not match what was written in the ingredients. It contained toxic pods that had not been removed. The product is now being withdrawn from sale and recalled by the importer. But why is there such a huge amount of faulty and dangerous goods being produced in China? Let’s go to our New York studio now to hear from China Dr Sean Linn, NTD China Analyst. Sean, can you tell us a bit more about why this is happening? [Dr. Sean Lin, NTD China Analyst]: “The Green Tea product that has

How to: Green Tea Facial Scrub Tutorial (detox your skin)

(yes guys, I woke up and did this tutorial without doing my hair… Mega bed head alert) Hi everyone, Here is another homemade mask recipe as promised. I am loving this facial scrub so much!!!! You guys have to try it. Who needs to spend large amounts of cash when all you need is to go downstairs into your own kitchen? My ‘Origins Modern Friction’ exfoliater works great but my skin is far too sensitive for the ingredients. It stung my face when I washed it out. Until one morning, I was sipping my greentea when I suddenly had a thought and wondered if we can use greentea as an ingredient for our skin. We can!!! Greentea not only tastes wonderful but has promising benefits for our body and skin. This homemade mask is inexpensive and great for getting rid of dead skin cells (which can pile up giving you a dull complexion). By using the scrub when it is slightly warm, it opens our pores allowing the nutrients of the mask to cleanse deep within. I get questions by people asking me how they can reduce appearance of scars. The answer is by exfoliating and removing the scar tissues. You can even use this scrub on your body. The amount I reccomended is for 2-4 applications. You can adjust the recipe to make it more ‘thick’ or ‘thin’ so it suits yourself. I would reccomend you to exfoliate at least once a week. If you have a jar, store it in your fridge (use still bottled water instead though). You can buy green tea (teabags or loose tea leaves) in your supermarket. You are sure to
